Can you identify this building?

When I watch PBS Newshour, I often see people in New York being interviewed from a particular studio location. I would like to know where the studio is and what the building visible beyond the speaker's left shoulder is.
In this pic, you can see the Empire State Building visible behind the speaker's right shoulder. Behind his left shoulder is a big, blocky, angular building that I can't identify. Do you know what it is? Seems to be somewhere around 8th or 9th Ave., possibly in the 40's.
Also, where is the studio that the speaker is in?

I do photo correlation from time to time for work. Thanks for this - it was fun.
A little googling around shows that PBS has studios at 825 8th Ave. (between 49th & 50th on 8th), but there's no way to get the orientation of the ESB, the BofA Tower, and the Freedom Tower (to the right of the ESB all the way downtown) to line up as in the photo from that point.
I strongly suspect this is a camera view from atop the GE Building at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, looking downtown. See this GMaps perspective view for comparison. I do not think PBS has studios at 30 Rock, but could easily be wrong. So - definitely possible that the camera (almost certainly at 30 Rock) and the studio (possibly at 825 8th Ave.) are not in the same place.

Yeah - I agree that the guy in the photo is on a high floor at 30 Rock. Here's a picture of the view from the Rainbow Room, for example.

It's most likely at 30 Rock. I did a TV segment at the NBC studios there and the view looks similar (although a slightly different angle), with the Bank of America tower over my shoulder to the right, and the W.R. Grace building to the left. Even though I was in 30 Rock, they had a screen with a camera view behind me displaying the picture - it's not a window. I'm guessing they have all sorts of cameras set up at 30 Rock and TV studios use the feeds as needed to get the NYC skyline background.
