Gay dating for an introvert in Vancouver, BC?

I'm late 30s, recently settled in Vancouver, BC. I'd like to start dating, but where/how is a good way to go about it?

I've been moving all over the world for work, usually only staying at a place for about a year. Because of this, I decided not to date as I don't know where I'd be next year. Looking back, I really should not have been so fearful of "what ifs" and just go along with the flow. But you know, hindsight is 20/20 :)

About a year ago, I got a long term job in Vancouver, and also got my permanent residency here a few months back. I'd love to start to meet more gay guys for dating in the hopes of finding a partner.

Unfortunately, my hobbies of late aren't really good for meeting people - writing, a bit of music composition. Activities that I think are rather solitary. I recently got into magic the gathering, so I do get to interact with people outside of work at least once a week.

I've also tried okcupid, and a few dating apps but they haven't gone anywhere. Being introverted doesn't help I guess. I do live very close to the local gay village of Davie Street. But bars are definitely not my thing.

Finally, I've attended a few Vancouver Gaymer meetups, but its unlikely I'll be able to go for more as I'm working during their meetups.

Would love suggestions to improve my love life :)

Have you tried Meetup? I'm sure that Vancouver has lots of different groups you can join, be it book clubs, hiking groups or what have you. Try a few out, and even if they aren't specifically singles groups, expanding your friend groups can be the best place to meet friends of friends. Worst case senerio is that you expand your comfort zone and make some new friends.
Even if you aren't into bars, could you try to find trivia nights in Davie Street? Doing something social like that is the best way I know to meet people who share your interests, so if you want to meet someone, that's where I'd start. Good luck!
