Bralette for small frame with larger boobs
March 29, 2017 9:41 AM
Looking for sports-ish bras with small band size that are not completely flat across.
I wear size 30DDD in underwire bras. My boobs are not huge, but they are large for my frame size, at least according to sizing standards in the U.S. When I get bralette/sports bras, the ones that fit my boobs will have the band riding up all day. The ones where the band is tight will have no room for my boobs. I don't do rigorous sports so I don't need super-intense sports bras. I just want something simple with thin straps that I can wear on the days I don't feel like wearing underwire. This has to exist. Tell me where to go.
Oh and preferably cotton.

Lively just came out with a bralette for bustier folks. I haven't bought this particular product yet, but I've been wearing Lively bras for a couple of months and love them. Stellar customer service.

(Can't link to the specific item; the second link above goes to all of Lively's bralettes. The one I'm talking about is "The Busty Bralette," currently the first item on the page.)

Bare necessities has been my favorite online shop for bras for years (I'm also small frame, large cup size).
Here are the results by selecting 30DDD and wire-free.

I have no personal experience, but there was a similar question recently.

We are similar sizes (30E here). Coobie works for me, if the straps are let out all the way so the band doesn't ride up. It does not offer much support, however. Same with a bralette from the brand "naked." Both of these are good for hanging around and not wanting to wear a bra, but not for exercise, even gentle exercise. For slightly more support, I actually recommend Old Navy. They have a sports bra that has a ruched cinch in the middle-front (I think this is key to working with biggish-boob little-frame) and adjustable straps (I KNOW this is key). It's cute and has a strappy back, and removable cookies that are way too small. This bra works for support and it is surprisingly comfortable. I got size small. It smooshes but the band does not ride up.

I have one of these and it's very comfortable. I am a 32D so not quite as pronounced difference between boob and band as you, but I think it would also work for bigger boobs as the cup part is quite light and stretchy.

The recent question was mine, and for me the answer was the Patagonia "barely" bra. Their ad copy says it's for up to C cups, but I am 34DD, wear it in a size M, and it's totally fine for regular wear and stays in place. Highly recommend.
