Which (UK) union should I join? January 25, 2017 8:24 AM
As a semi-technical programme/product manager (I manage the database) at a large UK charity, which trade union should I join to best represent my interests? posted by MrMustard to Work & Money (1 answer total) 1 user marked this as a favorite
Does your employer have a recognised union? If so, join them.
I've also been a member of Unite when working for charities, because they were the one recognised at my employers. I now work in a different sector (although still for charities) and we're represented by Prospect, I'm not sure if they have a charity arm, but they seem clued into the issues around austerity. And they don't have the political side Unite do (I always opted out of Labour party donations when I was a unite member). posted by Helga-woo at 10:52 AM on January 25, 2017
