News & review site for coffee

I'm looking for a good online resource to stay up to date with the goings-on in the fancy coffee world so I can be a better informed and conscious online consumer of roasted beans.

I'm been lucky to live in places with wonderful roasters. (Verve, Sightglass, Olympia) Thus far, local shops have been my resource for guidance on new beans to try out. I am currently without a local cafe to provide this and am starting to buy online for my bean fix. So far i've been ordering from roasters I've already enjoyed, but now gazing out towards this wide world has me starting to wonder what else is out there. Feeling a little overwhelmed by choice, I'd love to find a site (even an online store) which covers roasters from around the country to provide context and information leading to transforming me into a dialed in, informed, and curious consumer. I've seen the subscription boxes, but I am not interested as the hunt is part of the fun for me. Thanks!

You may want to check out the reviews of coffee subscription boxes at My Subscription Addiction. Of course, these reviews will give you information about different subscription services... But the reviews also provide a fair bit of information about the particular coffees provided by each subscription each month.

I would cruise theGolden bean Competition. Not so much for those actual coffees winning in certain categories, but if you see roasters consistently winning in categories you like, you should pick them up. Even some of their less competition-geared coffees will be great.

You can use this logic and cruise the good food awards, but that's kind of a multi-year monitoring to go about.

You can also me mail me for specific suggestions!
