Are there more apps like Neko Atsume?

The kids and I are really enjoying collecting the kitty cats, but wish it was a little more interactive. Can you suggest any similar apps?

Best answer: Isn't Neko Atsume a less interactive and more laid-back version of Animal Crossing?

Best answer: Nekonoke~cat collector. You pet the cat to collect fur balls, which you can then spend for furniture or to evolve your cat.

Best answer: Kitten Sanctuary is a delightful match 3 where you save island kitties from aliens and buy them toys to decorate their home with and sometimes the kitties wear hats!

Best answer: Try Doodle Cat! So cute, available for iPhone and android.

Best answer: I'm not sure these are much more interactive, but I've been playing three animal collecting games by the same developer: Splash (with fish), Butterfly Sanctuary (butterflies, obvs) and Pocket Frogs. Pocket Frogs is my favourite, but they've discontinued support for the Android version. The others have slightly cluttered interfaces, but they are still fun.

Best answer: NEO Mushroom Garden. You grow mushrooms and create and collect different varieties by changing the conditions they grow in. I don't know that it's MORE interactive but I spent like six weeks of my life tending stupid mushrooms!

Alphabear is my current obsession. It's like scrabble, except as you win you collect little themed teddy bears that help you level up.

Neko Mura! which in fact predates Neko Atsume. You actually interact with the cats (i.e. toys and petting). The only problem is it's in Japanese and that link is a very basic walkthrough.

I suppose if we email that blog owner and ask nicely he might do a more detailed writeup.

I also came to recommend Flutter: Butterfly Sanctuary. I started neglecting my cats and became obsessed with collecting butterflies!

My daughter really likes Dragon City on iOS. I gather that you get dragons and train them and breed them and get new ones and maybe challenge other dragons.

(I apprehensively downloaded Neko Atsume for her this evening partly on the strength of this question and that MetaFilter thread from a couple weeks ago...)
