Relationship Freakout

I'm embarking on a new relationship with a recently separated man. I'm freaking out about the whole thing as much as I sing his praises.
I'm not looking forward to the impending drama that's gonna happen since he has a kid and a soon-to-be ex wife who has a history of snapping, and though she's been dating others and is fine with him dating... he just can't with me. I never experienced love quite like this in my previous relationships. But now I feel myself withdrawing as this relationship becomes more a reality and I'm stuck. I've been dating others in the meantime as he sorts stuff out but I honestly don't know where to go from here. Can anyone offer some insight? Feel free to PM me for more details.
