Is this DEFINITELY the kind of art I want to make?

I didn't correct an assumption about my last question and am wondering - Is all the great advice still applicable?

I posted this question: http://ask.metafilter.com/285415/What-type-of-art-do-I-want-to-make and found the answers immensely helpful but couldn't check back in time to where it felt appropriate to ask any follow-up questions. I figured it would be best given the time elapsed to post this as a new question. I clicked through to the link someone linked to of Boyd's work in their answer and found it not exactly the "era" of his work I was going for (slightly less pen and ink and slightly more watercolor than my favorite book by him which is sampled here: http://brandon-boyd.myshopify.com/products/white-fluffy-clouds), and wanted to make sure all the advice still held ground in these slightly less abstract pieces (the person who mentioned tattoo style seemed to nail it stylistically but what do I know?) Please let me know if these are still the right directions to take. Thank you!

This post was deleted for the following reason: Hey there, your previous question is still open, just post this in there and the people who answered there will see it in their Recent Activity. -- LobsterMitten
