Wood furniture restoration in New York City
June 16, 2015 1:06 PM
I own a wood Singer sewing machine table handed down to me by grandmother that is in otherwise decent shape except for the top, which is damaged (as you can see here). Seeking recommendations for someone in New York City who can restore the top. Thank you.
I don't have a recommendation either because I am not in NYC and don't know the resources there, but you really need a good furniture repair shop. What's left of the veneers will have to be removed, similar new veneer will have to be glued on and trimmed around the perimeter, and then it will have to be stained and lacquered to match the existing finish on the rest of the piece.
