how to create a simple slideshow from a USB file of jpgs ?

Have a lot of slides that i simply want to loop during a demo next week
I am working on a imac but will show it on a pc.
I have about 200 jpgs
Nothing fancy...
unfortunately I am on Powerpoint 2008 so i can't easily create a PPT from this folder.
Have you tried going to the Insert menu and choosing Photo Album? I'm pretty sure it was on the PC version of PowerPoint 2008, but googling around to find out the name of the command makes me question if it will work on the Mac version.

Windows Photo Viewer can be set to display a folder as a looping slideshow - just full-screen it and look for the "Loop" setting. (I don't have a Windows PC in front of me at the moment, so I can't recall exactly how to do it, but it should be relatively simple.)

To elaborate, it's apparently a right-click option on the newer versions.

Freemake video converter takes .jpg files and let's you set the time on screen form pacing and allows simple adding of a music file to the slide show, fast and simple to get the hang of fast.

If you don't need to be able to click 'next', you could use the standard Windows screensaver to cycle through all the pics in a directory of your choice.
If you do, Irfanview can do this.

Yes, Irfanview will do this simply (and for free), if you can install it on the PC.
