Recommendations for an allergist in NYC?
April 21, 2015 8:51 AM

Getting a bit desperate for an NYC allergist who will be able to see me sometime before the end of the century.

I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to my cats. A friend of mine recommended an allergist in NYC, but when I called, they said that they be able to see me in, oh, September 2021 or so. I'd rather not wait that long, as I'm getting a little desperate here, frankly. Can anyone recommend a good (or mildly good) allergist in Manhattan? (No limitations regarding the insurance; if people give me names, I'll work out the insurance stuff.)Thanks much!

Try these guys. I went a few years ago to their 86th Street location and saw Dr. Lynelle Granady. I thought she was good, but I think I only saw her once, maybe twice, because it turned out I didn't have any allergies. They got me in for an appointment quite quickly and they also took my insurance.

I had an awesome experience with Dr. Tim Mainardi at Hudson Allergy in Tribeca - was able to get an appointment on ZocDoc to see him within a week as a new patient.

I had a good experience with Dr. Marjorie Slankard. I got in very quickly a few months ago - though it was the dead of winter. She's in midtown and got me lots of samples.

I use Lynelle Granady on the UES. They take Oxford, don't know beyond that. Caveat, as of last year, cash only for copay.

I was also going to recommend ENT and Allergy Associates. I went to their Wall Street Location. Got in to see an ENT same week and referral to allergist the following week.
