In the future, people trade social reputation (gained via upvotes on live-streams of their days) for goods and services. Drama ensues when a young woman meets a young man who has gone back to the horrid old way of life: cash! Name that sci-fi short story.

I believe the story was posted on the blue some number of years ago.
