Accessing CBT files on macbook

I have a CD based CBT from work that I need to view. The files are .swf, I converted it to mkv, mp4 to try and watch it but that just made it all wonky. I have a macbook pro about a year old.

Best answer: .swf is just Flash. You should be able to view them in Safari or another browser (Chrome, Firefox) if you have Flash installed. Right click the file, choose Open With..., Other..., select "All Applications" from the drop down, and choose Safari (or another browser with Flash). I confirmed this with a .swf file on my system. If you need Flash.

VLC should play it with no problem too (it plays just about anything).

+1 to VLC. That was going to be my second suggestion. VLC is wonderful.

You can drag and drop a .swf file from the Finder onto the Safari icon in your Dock to open it. Slightly easier than the The Michael The's method.
