"No pen, no ink, no table, no room, no time, no inclination"

My favourite pen has run out of ink! Sadness has ensued. Help me get it flowing again!
I know less than nothing about pens or pen refills, and my google-fu has proved alarmingly ineffective at this probably simple task. The pen is not very valuable, but has loads of sentimental attachment for me, so I'd like to get it working again!
It is a metal, retractable, ballpoint pen, which has my alma mater's crest printed on it, and which I received a few years ago as a graduation gift. The ink cartridge says Magnus E on it.
Searching the website of Magnus pens is somewhat overwhelming, and I can't seem to find the exact match of my pen in their copious offerings. The pens are, of course, designed to be customized, so none of the photos look exactly like mine. The pens that do look most like mine, however, all seem to have black ink (mine has blue), or aren't available to be ordered in the colour (silver, black, blue) that my pen is, so I'm not sure which model my pen corresponds to, and thus not sure which refill I should be looking for. Maybe these things don't matter, and the refills that fit those pens will fit mine too, but how do I know? And even if I could figure it out, I don't see anywhere on the Magnus site to purchase refills (they list which refills go with which pens, but there's no "Buy refills here!" kind of thing). Additionally, I can't find Magnus through refillfinder.com, so I'm plum out of ideas (and I don't really know what I'm looking for, anyway)
Can I use any type/brand of refill here, so long as it's the right size/shape? If so, what size/shape/type of refill should I be searching for? Is there specific terminology that I'm not aware of? Help!
Thanks, penophiles!
(....wait a minute...that doesn't sound quite right....)

Fisher Space Pen refills used to come with a plastic adapter which would allow them to be used in Jotters, but I don't know if that's still the case.
