Current oil price - lucky accident or conspiracy?

I have read a lot of the mainstream analysis that explains what is going on with the current crazy low oil price. It seems just too lucky for the USA the way this is seriously crashing Russia's economy, right after all that stuff in Ukraine.
People in the oil industry, or people who are listening in on the President of US / Saudi King when on the phone: is this truly a really lucky coincidence, or has this been carefully steered and engineered to fsck Russia?
