Scheduling problems!

I'm having problems finding a program to do what I want. I want to be alerted when I try to schedule conflicting appointments on my Dell Axim.
I recently purchased a Dell Axim. I've been using the Calendar to schedule appointments (I tutor students at our university). Sometimes a student will schedule an appointment for several weeks in advance. Some students schedule me to a certain time on a weekly basis. Sometimes this results in a conflict several weeks away. Is there some program or feature that will alert me immediatlely if I try to schedule an appointment that would result in a conflict? So far, I've been scheduling my appointments with Microsoft Outlook on my Axim, but I can't seem to find this feature anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
