Warranty-friendly ext. antenna for Powerbook?
November 16, 2005 12:26 PM

Is there any way to attach an external WiFi antenna to a latest-model 15" Powerbook without voiding the warranty?

I've seen QuickerTech's site, but it seems that doing that install would void my AppleCare, something I'm not willing to do for a better signal at home. Ideally, I'd like something that would let me connect and disconnect a coax antenna as needed, but I'm open to all suggestions. Ideas?

Stick a wireless NIC in the PCMCIA slot, and attach an antenna to that.

I stuck a metal screwdriver in the PC Card slot and rested it on a metal desk edge. Anti-Farraday on a budget.

You are my hero.

Anyway, the only rule of warranty-voiding is: Is it fully reversible?
