Which colors to paint this ceiling medallion?

Florists, gardeners, green-thumbs, I have a floral ceiling medallion that I want to paint in pastel colors. Link to imgur album. I know these might not be real flowers but what do they remind you of?
There's a bundle of little flowers, a big flower, and a sort of trefoil leaf thing.
I hope they're based on real flowers - but if not, what's your recommendation for my color palette? I'm thinking pastels. Any help would be much appreciated.

Different types of geranium - there are very many geraniums, and some of them fit your image quite well. But why don't you just do colors which match your beautiful chandelier?: soft blues, maybe some touches of purple, white details, shades of green for leaves and stalks. I don't think the plant police will fine you for a little poetic license

Agree that the small flowers look like hollyhocks, which generally come in shades of white/pink/red/maroon. To me the big flowers seem like pansies, but I really like pansies. They could also be poppies. Pansies come in almost every colour so you could still do them whatever colour you want, and maybe have fun making little pansy faces for them.
Leaves are definitely stylised acanthus.

I agree, poppies. You might find some inspiration in William Morris prints. Here's one to get you started.

I would go with very pale blue, the color of ice cubes.
Or, very, very pale green.
They remind me of grape leaves.
