Looking for an old-fashioned 4th of July celebration

When I used to live in Texas, my friends and I used to escape the big city to a small town that held a old-school 4th of July event. The firetruck parade, the town band enthusiastically playing John Phillip Sousa, funnel cakes and cotton candy and a ferris wheel, the whole nine yards. It was awesome. I would love to find something similar near (less than a two hour drive) DC. Thanks everyone!
Maybe not as big of a deal as you're looking for, but, if you stay in DC, the DC Palisades have a parade and that section of DC is so far off the beaten path that it feels like a small town: http://www.palisadesdc.org/
That said, rural MD, VA, PA, WV and DE are just an hour or less in any particular direction.

Best answer: Lititz, PA has a great Fourth celebration. Should be about 2 hours from DC.

Best answer: Havre de Grace, Maryland, is having the whole she-bang, with the big stuff (parade, concert, fireworks) going down on July 5. On the Eastern Shore, Easton offers a carnival, parade, concert and fireworks on the 4th proper.

The parade will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. on German Street downtown. It will begin at Church Street and end at Princess Street.

The Palisades Day Parade lacks a Ferris wheel, but it does have ponies, puppies, loads of bands, dancers, and okay a lot of politicians. We went to it growing up and even volunteered for it and it is about as charming as you could want. There used to be hot dogs and watermelon afterwards, and even some Shriners.
