Please help me put the magic back in my carpet

Do you know of a good, inexpensive place that repairs and cleans oriental rugs in NYC?

I have a small (24" x 33") oriental carpet that I inherited from my grandmother, and it has some issues. It is missing its fringe and needs its ends bound, and it has a small tear in the center of the carpet that needs to be repaired. It is also dirty and needs to be cleaned.

I am looking for recommendations of places that have done a good, inexpensive job repairing and cleaning oriental carpets. I am on a budget, but this rug fits very well beside my bed and I would like to do my best to maintain it. I am looking for places in NYC but the carpet is small enough that it could be shipped if necessary.

If you were in Portland, I would recommend checking with Atiyeh Brothers who have been in the oriental rug business for over 100 years. They sell Orientals, and clean them, but I do not know if they repair. If no one gives you a local lead, check your Yellow Pages for an oriental specialist.
