Find me a car-finding wizard (in the UK)

Six or so years ago, I was looking for a second-hand car and stumbled across a "suggest-a-car" webpage. You could put your requirements into, it spat back a bunch of suggestions, you refined your parameters and sorted results, etc. It ended up suggesting a car I wouldn't have thought otherwise, which I bought and it was a great choice. Now, I'm looking for the next car ...
The things I liked about the tool were:
* it wasn't based on the used cars available or in the database, but suggested models of cars
* the parameters weren't brand or strict cost but requirements, e.g. I'm looking for a small or midsize car with great economy and good safety, doesn't need to be fast
That is, it was great for suggesting types of cars you could then go and look for. I thought the tool was on the Parkers website but - although there's some lingering evidence - it doesn't seem to be there any more. There's a very crude tool on the TopGear website, but it's just for new cars.
Any suggestions for an alternative or where the original webtool may have gone? Important detail: I'm in the UK.

Was it Car Talk?
That's an amazing recommendation site. But no, it was for used cars.

There's a CarMax selector for used cars that goes to the same site as CarTalk, but it's American. Pity - it's also kind of cool.

Not sure how long this site has been around for (I only found it pretty recently), but the Motors.co.uk "Smart Search" seems to be a similar idea?
