Pittsburgh: Riding the choo choo with Daddy
November 15, 2013 2:59 PM

What's fun around a Pittsburgh Light Rail stop for a 2.5-year-old? I'm taking my toddler-daughter for a ride on the train tomorrow. Last week we went to Dormont Park. What should we do this week? I haven't spent much time in the South Hills. (I'm looking to go South, not North - we know the North Side in-and-out) Meal suggestions also welcome!

Hmmm... in hindsight, posting on Friday night the day before the event was a little late. We're off to Dormont Park. BUT! If you have any ideas, I'm sure we're going to do this again soon, and I am all ears. Thanks!

How fun! We loved standing in the middle section as kids - the part that rotates as the train goes around curves.

There's an Ice Castle skating rink off of the Overbrook Junction stop.

Uptown Mt. Lebanon has a bevy of restaurants, including an ice cream place and a pizza place.
