Can you identify this vacation destination (c 1950)?

Back in the '50s my Mom took a trip with her friends to this tropical island somewhere in the Caribbean. Can anyone help me identify where these pictures were taken? Link to the gallery here.

Having spent a fair amount of time on a lot of Caribbean islands, I was going to guess Jamaica until I saw the buildings. I'd guess Puerto Rico from the mountains and the architecture. Great pix, btw.

Best answer: Looks like St. Thomas to me. This one looks like an extremely undeveloped Charlotte Amalie.

Best answer: On further inspection, it's definitely St. Thomas. On the pictures I linked, you can see the same white building with a red roof on the little peninsula in the harbor, in addition to the same hill at the far end.

Best answer: Definitely St. Thomas. This beach matches the one in your picture, with little lumpy islands off to the left.

Yeah, ignore PR. Looks like St. Tihomas.

Best answer: As further confirmation, the third and 14th photos seem to show the Emancipation Garden Post Office, with two US flags flying.
