Good, general OS X user mailing list?

Looking for a good, user-oriented OS X mailing list. Some tech level would be helpful, as would a sane level of traffic. I'm a longtime Unix user who is a little lost with the Apple specifics.

And please, I mean a good old-fashioned-e-mail mailing list. Web forums don't work too well for me.

Actually, I recommend the Usenet newsgroups comp.sys.mac.system, comp.sys.mac.comm, and comp.sys.mac.apps. They are relatively free of spam and trolls (sure, there are a couple) and the signal-to-noise ratio is fairly high. If you insist on having them in e-mail, there are presumably some e-mail to news gateways out there...

X-Unix and its archives sound like what you're asking for.

Oh, and kindall's too humble to say so, but he's a large part of the good STN ratio on the comp.sys.mac.* groups. It's been a few years since I've read them, but I know his tips, fixes, and insights have proven useful numerous times.

Thanks! X-Unix looks very helpful.

Those comp.sys.mac groups, they're moderated, yes? I haven't seen such a spam-free group in years. I'll have to find a gateway that works for me, because unless it's in my mail, I forget about it.

No, the comp.sys.mac.* groups are not moderated, which is really really amazing.

Thanks for these, but they're perhaps a little more purely tech than I'd like.
