Did "Anonymous" play a role in the 2012 election results?

Did "Anonymous" prevent Karl Rover form hacking the 2012 presidential election, as they supposedly have claimed?

For the techies of Metafilter---I realize that probably there's no way to determine the truth, but I'm interested in your opinions. If they did disrupt Rove's possible tampering with the machines, what methods could they use to "reverse hack"?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, maybe there's a more concrete way to phrase this as a question about known strategies for vote tampering and counter-tampering measures, but it needs to be more of that sort of thing and less "let's speculate about the unknowable" to work for askme. -- cortex

Response by poster: Oops, make that Karl ROVE and "FROM"---I did proofread, but I haven't yet had morning caffeine. :-(
