Help me find this game!

I'm more than sure I found this on Metafilter, but have no idea of the name. Essentially it's a game you only get to play once--pretty sure it's flash-based. Some sort of disease has wiped out most of the world and you only have a week (?) to make your choices: spend time with the ones you love (iirc your daughter is the only one left)/enjoy what's left of the world or continue researching the cure in the hope that you will find it and cure humanity before your time is up. Every day you wake up with a choice of what to do.

It was a seriously awesome game but I just cannot find it either on MeFi or searching the 'net for lack of good/unique keywords and there are so many results/posts to wade through regardless of the words I use. I think it was posted before this game was but I'm not 100% sure.

I was reminded of it because of this comic.

And now I need to know how to get around however they block you from playing it more than once. :-\

cairdeas: almost certainly they're using the Flash equivalent of a local cookie. Flash uses some local storage, and flash programs can keep things in there.

As of recently in Windows, there's a Flash control applet in the control panel, and one thing it permits you to do is to clear all flash local storage. I would bet that would make it so you could play again. (However, it might have other consequences you might find intolerable. Use with caution.)

Best answer: Yup, sounds like One Chance to me too. Which reminded me a lot of Every Day The Same Dream. I came across both through Casual Girl Gamer's series of posts on games that make you think about life. There's some real winners there.

Private browsing to bypass local storage? I'd start there.
