What unique/unusual/fun activities in SF do I not yet know about?

Recently, a friend took me to banyasf.com - Russian coed nude bathhouse where you can get flogged with hot reeds. It got me to thinking - what other obscure experiences should I have and don't yet know of that would maybe be described as crazy/creative/unexpected? Things I've liked, for example: the Hitchcock Vertigo tour, Armory Kink.com tour, the Wave Organ. Any thoughts? Open to things around SF bay area, as well - 1.5 hour radius?

Can you tell me the most interesting things you've done/places you've been in the Bay?

Have you ever gone skydiving? I only did it once, but I'm glad I did.

When I was a kid I LOVED to go to Mission San Juan Bautista.

If you haven't done it yet, the Rosecrucian Museum is a real treat.

In May, go to the Castroville Artichoke Festival. Or just go to Castroville, pull up to a stand and get some yummy Artichokes!

A goofy, fun weekend is a gut-busting dinner at Negri's Itallian Restaurant in Sonoma. It's a pretty drive, get a motel around there, do some wine tasting, but save your appetite for the ENORMOUS dinner. When I was a kid, there were three of these places and I think my Dad took us to all of them on successive evenings. It's old-fashioned, red-sauce food, but man oh man, do I have fond memories of those goofy weekend trips we took.

Sonoma also has an annual Ox Roast. I've been. It's a thing.

Have you been to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk? Also a thing.

There are so many little towns to explore, places to go, things to do. I loved being a kid in California!

Did you get to either (or both) Hunky Jesus (some photos might not be SFW) or Bring Your Own Big Wheel yesterday? Those events are how some of us know it's Easter around here.

Also, after the Exploratorium re-opens, check out the Tactile Dome.

If you're not particularly into anime, go to an anime convention. The cosplay (costume play) will make it worth it. Believe me. (And for some conventions, you can mingle in the 'public areas' without a badge.)

Grey Whale Cove State Beach is just outside Pacifica. Parking is tricky unless you know it's there. There's no real indication a beach of any kind exists except people in beach attire darting across the 1 and disappearing. Then you go down a rickety staircase and you're in a gorgeous, sheltered cove that very few people even know about and because of the cliffs and wave noise, you can't hear the cars overhead, so it's like being a million miles away.

Atlas Obscura is a great source for offbeat things to see and do... it might give you some ideas!
