Where to spend an extra week in Cambodia?
February 11, 2013 5:55 PM

I am currently on a month long trip in Cambodia and have seen most of what I want to see. I'll have about a week left at the end and am looking for recommendations. What did I miss? What should I see before I leave? .

I have been to Siem Reap, Battambang, Sihanoukville, Kampot, Kep and will be going to Phonm Penh shortly. I will have to return to Phonm Penh by the 23rd Feb and would rather do things cheaply.

I'm told Rattakiniri is amazingly beautiful and different from everywhere else in Cambodia. There's a huge highway being built across the north-east of Cambodia which will basically destroy/change the entire region, so this is a really great opportunity to see a remote part of the world that will not be there in a decade. You can get buses up there and stay in eco-lodges and home stays and go hiking and swim in waterfalls. Travelfish info.

Go to Bokor National Park. Beautiful, hard to get to and supremely creepy abandoned French hill station.
