Tokyo / Narita Filter: Is there a restaurant in T1 where I work on a weekday afternoon? I have to wait for someone arriving on a flight that arrives after mine. Recommendations for a restaurant in Terminal 1 (landside) where I can work for 3 hours, preferably with free wifi? Thanks
There's an excellent sushi restaurant outside of security in T1 at Narita. I'm sure you could sit there and work.

Thanks Ruthless Bunny & Kololo. When I was last at Narita in April the Wifi was not airport-wide (like Hong Kong) and coverage in public areas was spotty. And the Starbucks in the basement of T1 doesn't fit the bill.

Turns out that there are 2 pay-in lounges on the landside at Narita
T.E.I. LOUNGE
Landside - the Lounge is located on the 5th Floor of the central building, midway between the North Wing and the South Wing. Opening Hours: 07:00 - 21:00 daily.
IASS EXECUTIVE LOUNGE
Landside - enter the main building (the center building between the north&south Check-in Bldgs) from 4th Floor (Departure Floor) & take center escalator up to 5th Floor. Turn left and proceed straight ahead for approx. 10 meters. Signboard indicates the entrance to the Lounge. Opening Hours: 07:00 - 21:00 daily.

In terminal 1 there appears to be a lot of options for what you need. One thing I'll note is that they have Dayrooms and Showers on level 3. I had a 6 hour layover in Korea and I would have killed for a shower after a 16 hour flight.
There are two coffee bars in Terminal 1, including a Starbucks.
There is wi-fi throughout the airport, so you can have a shower, set up at Starbucks and then hook up to the internet and get a couple of things done before you meet your friend.
Are you checking baggage? If so will they hold it for you at customs?
