Time for Electronic Direct Democracy

When will e-democracy be commonplace among nations? Could you make an educated guess? Technology to achieve it is already present and has penetrated well to be a tool for the layperson, even if not covering the whole world population yet. What was not physically feasible yesterday IS feasible today. Are we not fed up with inept, sly and corrupt representatives? Why do not we see more coverage on this subject on mainstream media? OK, They are in collusion with powers that be... Then, at least there should be some serious coverage on alternative channels. As an avid news reader I do not see much news on this front. Should I seek the niche locations? In that case not many people really care about it. Representatives are obsolete in 2012 A.D. Geek women & men of all countries: Next Big Idea is E-democracy.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, this needs to be more of a concrete request for resources and less of a "here is my opinion" sort of thing to be at all workable as an Ask Metafilter question. -- cortex
