P.I. needed for family matter- Ca.

My family wants to hire a super discreet private investigator who operates in the area of Nipomo, Ca involving a very delicate family matter.
Situation: elderly brother's spouse is refusing to allow him to speak, see or write to any of his siblings out of state. They are both curmudgeons/misanthropes but he was known to send an email or talk on the phone once in a great while - no more. She is running interference for him - "he is busy and can't come to the phone" or (in a personal visit to their home) "The house is too untidy - maybe some other time." Why can't he send an email? "He's too tired from working on the house all day." She has an answer for everything and is getting quite obnoxious in her responses to our attempts to talk to him. She absolutely will not tell us what is going on with him and some of us would like to have contact with him (in his 80's) before we all depart this mortal coil. The only thing I can think of is to hire a P.I. who can very discreetly (I can't emphasize this too much) find out their situation. Does he (brother) have Alzheimer's and she won't divulge that? We can only speculate on the situation. They are pretty well heeled, financially, and live in their own home. Traditionally they never have contact with neighbors or are engaged in battles with them. Thanks for any advice or recommendations.

I suggest you ask the mods to remove all the details from this if you want something "discreet", as you've basically just told the spouse you were about to do this.
That said, just google Private Investigator San Luis Obispo and start calling people and asking if they can help. These people look like a good option.
Your other options might include calling the local police non-emergency line and asking for their help, and/or just showing up at his door.

You can can contact the local police and ask for a wellness check. Call their non-emergency line.

Response by poster: I asked to have it removed to be safe but I'm not sure how anyone could have identified them but I will have it removed anyway.
