Sociopathy hybrid?

Is it possible for a person to have attained a deep enough understanding of emotional pain and hurt and it's effects on people to create a kind of hybrid sociopath. I guess I'm thinking along the lines of having certain rules or a code of ethics embedded so strongly prior to the triggering event that the sociopathy doesn't "take hold" in the typical way. These "codes" overruling the general lack of ability to feel guilt, empathy, etc, when it comes to actions and acting out. A managing force that keeps the actions in the head rather than actually doing it. Knowing justice rather than feeling it.

What if you're exposed to the flu but don't catch it, does that mean you now have a "hybrid flu?"

Some form of this concept was one of the major driving forces behind the 80s grim-n-gritty period in comic books. Origin stories and so on were broken down into their component parts and rebuilt with inappropriate responses to trauma being the heroes' driving force, rather than a sense of justice and a desire to right wrongs. So one answer to your question can be "Batman, et. al. circa 1985."
