Anybody have a copy of Charlie and Lola "You won't like this present as much as I do"? I am doing my kid's homework.
My kid is meant to be doing his homework about Charlie and Lola's "You won't like this present as much as I do". Needless to say he hasn't remembered to bring the book home. I am getting grief from my wife (I dont know how it is my fault). Anybody out there got a copy and can give me the story? He is 5. Yeah, I know, too young, but let us leave that to another time.

Explain to your wife that if your kid can't remember to be responsible for his own homework, then the kid will have to deal with the teacher.
The teacher will then either take a positive approach and motivate kid to do better or a punitive approach to make things unpleasant enough for kid to change behavior. This is how children learn to function in the real world.
You and your wife only need to jump in if the teacher becomes abusive.
If the teacher is assigning a book report to a kid that can't read, then you, as a parent, need to tell the teacher that her job is to educate the kid in the school. It is not her job to schedule your family time. Explain to her that you will allow time at home for your child to do homework and even help out from time to time but you expect her to only assign kid tasks that kid can do independently.
The educational enrichment that you and your wife give your child during your home time is more valuable that any assignment that she tries to force on you.
Okay, not what you asked for, I know, but, a lot easier than trying to accommodate a teacher, a wife and a 5 year old, all who should be handling their own stuff.

From Amazon: Lola wants to buy Lotta a special birthday present and thinks up all sorts of imaginative gifts, like a musical jump rope or wings so Lotta can fly. After Charlie reminds Lola that a good present is one Lotta can actually use and that actually exists, Lola settles on buying a doctor's kit. Trouble is, now Lola wants the present for herself!

Is it on YouTube? Most of the Charlie and Lola books are also cartoons and available online.

Most libraries have their search catalogs online. You could google the name of the library to find their website. They should have some kind of search for title function on the site. Type in the book title and bam.. it should show if they have it and if it's available.
