Help me identify a Children's Book

I need help identifying a children's book about a Giant who always oversleeps.
This has been bugging me for ages and I want to get it as a present for someone. Sadly my google-fu is failing me
Basically it a shortish kid's book from when i was young (so 80s) with the following plot:
- A giant (or maybe just a big man) keeps oversleeping
- His boss at work (it's set in a "normal" town) warns him that he keeps being late for work and needs to stop
- the giant buys the best alarm clock he can, but it doesn't wake him up.
- boss gets angrier
- the giant buys more and more alarm clocks but they don't help
- boss says he's got one last chance
- giant has even more alarm clocks. They still don't wake him up
- BUT a spider on the ceiling is so annoyed by the noise, he dangles down on a thread, tickles the giants nose so he sneezes and wakes up
- spider and giant do a deal. Each day the spider wakes the giant up with a sneeze and in return the giant let's the spider build all the webs he wants
- everybody is happy (including, presumably, his work HR who can't have been looking forward to THAT disciplinary)
Any ideas from the wiser minds and memories out there?
