This post was deleted for the following reason: Go to ER immediately. Ask MeFi can't help beyond that -- mathowie

Go to the ER. if you are experiencing sudden acute pain and distressing symptoms, that's what you need to do.

You need to talk to a doctor or emergency hotline, not Internet strangers. Tell us where you are - someone will know who to call.

If you are this scared and in this much pain, please go to the Emergency Room. If you can't drive and no one can drive you, call 911.

This is what ERs are for. Please go.

Let your parents know immediately and have them call 911 for you.

You are a teenager and live at home, right? This is when you get mom or dad or your guardian.

You do not have to pay anything to call 911. The call is free.

It costs nothing to call 911 and describe your symptoms, please call 911 and let a health professional help you determine if you need emergency care or not. Calling 911 does not mean an ambulance will immediately be sent to your house, but someone will be able to talk to you about the pain you're experiencing.

With the intense pain and rapid onset/fade-away, it sounds like it might be a cluster headache. I'm no doctor, though. Call 911 to be sure.

Is it possible that you're psyching yourself into a panic attack or something similar?

(When I was in 11th grade or so I used to occasionally get obsessed with the idea that there was something wrong with my heart and that I was going to die. This usually happened at, like, 2 AM and usually came on suddenly and at random. It was bad enough once that I woke my mom up so I could tell her I thought I was going to die. She told me to go to bed. This stopped happening to me once I stopped being in high school, thank god.)

seconding calling 911 and describing your symptoms in detail...better safe than sorry. but to be honest, my guess is actually much more mundane: insect bite...sounds like a histamine reaction...rapid onset, heavy sweating, headache, quick fade...often insects (particularly mosquitos) will have anaesthetic in their jaws...you might not even feel the bite...give yourself a quick exam in the mirror and see if you don't find a red bump somewhere...then call 911...

I understand that you are a 10th grade student and just a couple months new to metafilter. This is something you need to tell your parents and have them handle.

Did you recently ingest a Vitamin B complex pill? Or, just a stand-alone niacin (Vitamin B3) supplement? It was terrifying when I first experienced the tell-tale "niacin flush" from B3 taken alone. At first I thought I was having some sort of terrible allergic reaction. (Anaphylaxis? Food allergy to dried mango? Sudden onset sunburn for no apparent reason? Fever of unknown origin?) I eventually figured it out, after calling a loved one in a panic. It went way in about half an hour, but it was terrifying. (Now I know why some niacin supplement bottles are labeled as "non-flush".) Either way, I am not a doctor, but do check out this link, with excerpt below:
High doses (50 mg or more) of niacin can cause side effects. The most common side effect is called "niacin flush," which is a burning, tingling sensation in the face and chest, and red or "flushed" skin. Taking an aspirin 30 minutes prior to the niacin may help reduce this symptom.
To your health. I really hope you figure out what is causing your discomfort and can get help to figure it out and resolve it!

I know I said this in MeMail, but just for the benefit of posterity:

Nobody here is going to take responsibility for telling you to take a Tylenol and go back to bed when this could be anything from a migraine to an aneurysm. We don't know and we want you to be safe not sorry. But the ROCKING news is that when you are 15, you don't have to know what to do. Your mom is standing right there looking at you, and has a vested interest in you not dying. She is the right person to make this call. Her advice to take some tablets, go back to bed, and see how you feel in the morning is a fine call.

If you still have a headache when you wake up, you might want to suggest seeing your doctor since this could be something like a cluster headache, as mentioned, and there are good drugs to take and things about managing them you will benefit from.

Try to sleep.
