New to the forum

I am in Cairns, Australia and I have joined, as I have been asked to join a new network for a university project. I have it on good authority (arcticwoman) that this is a great forum for ideas. I am hoping to get some suggestions on the best way to utilize this network and I also would like to hear about some features. I am finding it a little difficult to navigate and I am looking for some good suggestions. Thanks V

This post was deleted for the following reason: This is not a question, maybe try MetaTalk? -- mathowie

Best answer: Metatalk is really the place where you ask questions about the site, and I don't know that I would ask this one there. This question will probably get deleted for being in the wrong place. Ask MetaFilter is great for specific, directed questions not about the workings of the site itself.

Why don't you start with the FAQ and then just explore the different subsites a little? There's also an extensive wiki.

I'm a bit confused. You've been asked to join a network for a University project. Do you mean this is the new network (i.e. metafilter) or you've joined another network somewhere else (specific to your project), and you're asking how to utilise that other network. If it's the former then charmedimsure has it. If it's the latter than maybe give us some more details about the place you've joined so we can help you better?

Response by poster: Thanks for your answers. I have been meaning to join Meta Filter for a while and when the project asked for us to join a new network, Meta Filter was suggested and I decided it was the new network I wanted to join. Sorry for being confusing in my question. I am on my way to FAQ's as well as a few links messaged to me.
