Anyone have success being approved for a car loan 7 months after a bankruptcy?

My car is dead and I'm broke. A car loan is a necessity - no cosigner available.

if you haven't already, you should check with your attorney or bk officer—you might have to get an approval in order to even apply for one.

722 Redemption is known for making loans to people in your situation. I would follow violetk's advice first, and check with 722 second.

Thanks for the advice fellow MeFites! I just applied for Capital One and was approved for an $11K loan. Awesome : )

are you talking about after your filing, or after your bk has veen discharged? and just reiterating that you need to have your attorney and/or your bk officer know of your intention to take out a loan. you could get into a lot of trouble for taking out more credit without approval from them.

You don't say where you are, but here in Canada, the answer is "yes, and be prepared to pay credit card rates of interest."
