What do I need to crack WEP passwords with a Macbook Air running OSX?

I have an 11" Macbook Air. I'm going to be traveling soon and want to be able to access locked Wifi networks when, and only when, a free option is not available.

As I mentioned, I have the most recent 11" Macbook Air. I know that the Wifi card in the computer will not allow me to inject packets, or whathave you, using Kismac. What is the best USB Wifi card that I can buy that has a good range and can work with my Mac as well as Kismac to ultimately crack the network passwords I come across?

Please do not tell me anything about how it is wrong to crack network passwords. If I'm abroad and need to read emails from my family, this may be my only option. I'm not going to do anything malicious, literally just check my email, etc.

Also, if there is anything else that I should know that will increase my ability to crack passwords faster or boost the range of the wifi card (while not adding too much bulk) that would be appreciated.

"If I'm abroad and need to read emails from my family, this may be my only option."

However, it very likely won't be. Even abroad, many businesses (coffeeshops especially) provide free or cheap wifi.

Further, I've found that many wifi networks can be "cracked" by asking their owners to use them for a little bit. This has worked for me at a couple hotels and restaurants.

While I understand why you're asking, my answer would be that by prioritizing this method of wifi service, you are likely to spend more time and energy focusing on something relatively rare and are likely to overlook other, better options.
