The AT&T version is likely microsim, so it'll work with any data carrier that you can buy a microsim from, just like the iPad 3G. Beware that the AT&T iPad 2 is different than the Verizon iPad 2, so pick accordingly. If you want to use it internationally, go with the AT&T model. The first model wasn't carrier locked and I see no reason this one would be.

You can also visit shops, e.g., those mobile phone retailers in Chinatown, to "cut" a regular SIM card to fit the microsim port.

So will it support foreign carriers too?

The Verizon model will not. The AT&T one likely will.

no, the original iPad is not carrier locked and there's nothing i read about the iPad 2 that says otherwise. i'm talking about the att one. all you need to do is cut a regular sim to the shape of a microsim and voila t-mobile ipad or whatever other carrier you want.

Google "cut sim microsim". There are lots of guides. You just need scissors.

I'd expect it'll be available at all of Rogers, Bell and Telus since they all have micro-SIMs (and all have iPad data plans).
