San Francisco: recommend a great woman GP

Can you recommend a good general doctor?

Preferences: female; can do basic well woman exams including pap; offers flu shots at her office; good listener. Takes Anthem Blue Cross.

The Noe Valley Clinic is excellent. You pay an annual membership fee, which gets you same day access, email & web tools, and a level of service I have not found elsewhere. The doctors and PAs there are uniformly great, and I've been very happy with their advice and expertise.

I love Doctor Karen Khoo. She's not the cuddly-cuddly "what's new with you since your mother's last visit?" -type; instead, she's more of a no-nonsense "What are you symptoms? Have you felt this way before? This is what I think you should do. Here is your prescription" -type.

I've been to Romana Usman before and she was great. Getting an appointment wasn't a problem, and she's a good balance between caring about your problems and getting the job done. She takes my lameass Blue Cross insurance, but I don't know if she specifically takes Anthem Blue Cross.

Bayspring Medical Group has always done well by me. I see Dr. Curran, myself. She was great when she put my IUD in, as well.

The former Mrs Exothermic adores Dr Leah Tessler at Bayspring Medical Group.
