Name the glue

UK Glue ID filter. Triangular, transluscent plastic bottle, red nozzle used for direct spreading. Glue itself brown/clear.

Bottle similar shape to this. It's not Gloy, although the bottle may have been based on the Gloy bottle, or it may be a rebranding of Gloy. The Gloy nozzle is identical. Glue was available in the UK 80s/90s, possibly still for sale, and I'm sure had a catchy brand name.

It sounds like mucilage glue. Perhaps if you searched on that term?

Mucilage? Isn't (wasn't) that red nozzle pretty standard for mucilage bottles?

Hmm. I used a glue just like your description in school as a kid. 1980s. But I would have said it was Gloy.

I remember using Cow glue and Copydex as a child of the 80s in the UK.

The mucilage I remember from my childhood (US, 1960s/70s) was LePage brand. It had the exact same red rubber spreader tip although the bottle was different. LePage still makes glue in Canada but they don't list mucilage on their web site.

"Mr Magloo" was the one in Australia that came in a bottle as you describe. Haven't seen it in years, and Googling suggest the name only exists now as a brand of gluestick.

Just to say that I too remember glue like you describe, and am sure it isn't any of the brands listed here so far. It's most similar to the Gloy pictures, but definitely not quite that. (This was in New Zealand, by the way, but I bet we imported it from the UK). I'm sorry I can't answer the question, but I'm posting anyway so that you don't start doubting your own memory!
