Some must take pictures for our wedding...
Our wedding is this weekend. Help us think of some creative pictures to ask our photographer to take.
Some stuff about us:
We are doing a 50s theme for our wedding reception. We love that era, it's music etc.
We love Mad Men. Our ring bearer is carrying a pillow with Don Draper on it.
We met because of the movie Jaws. Loooooooove Jaws.
In general, we are both total movie nerds.
He's a history teacher. I'm a nanny.
We picked the date because it's by halloween... not afraid to incorporate halloween elements.
Thanks, hive!!

Seconding props in general. Josh Goleman is a prop wielding wedding photographer who does them the right way - his weddings always look incredible, so maybe you can take some inspiration from him.
Photo booths or photo booth like setups are all the rage at weddings these days (for good reason - they're awesome) and you can incorporate themes into your backdrop or whatever setting you use if you decide to do that. Some cool examples of a Josh Goleman set up toward the bottom here.
Try to avoid the standard, boring wedding photo poses and let your photographer do it documentary style for awhile; you'll end up with cool, engaging photos that people will want to look at later instead of your typical satin covered snoozefest. It sounds like your wedding style and interests (and desire to incorporate them into your photos) would make this pretty easy.

I would suggest asking the photographer to get a picture of each table. We did that for our wedding and now we have a picture of everyone that came.
I would also make sure you ask for pictures of all the details (cake, centerpieces, bouquets, etc.).

Seconding the photo booth, my friend's a photographer and she does these and they are 99% of the time a total hit. You just put a sheet or something against a wall and then have some silly props (oversized glasses, a frame, mustaches on a stick) and people really get into them.

Group shot of everyone at the wedding; can be a pain to get everyone to get in one place, but really nice to have.
