This metafilter post got me wondering - is there a robust website with all of these kinds of obscure world/national holidays?

Wikipedia? (Holidays are down at the bottom.)

Response by poster: I'm guessing the holiday lists are quite incomplete on Wikipedia, since the entry for Oct. 20 doesn't list World Statistics Day.

Maybe my question was too specific - I'm not only looking for holidays, but special days that are observed like the aforementioned World Statistics Day.

I posted a short round-up of special/holy day calendars a while back on the Blue. Nothing on other "days of focus," though.
