Wii/Online 2-player Games that are awesome

What new 2-player games in the vein of New Super Mario Bros Wii are out there? Or, what 2009-2010 games are online for 2-players in the same style?

Answers that address:
- A 2010 game that is online for 2-players to semi-cooperate from different computers/or take turns
- A Wii game that is for 2 players that is semi-cooperative or really fun
- When is the next Super Mario Bros game coming out for the wii?
Boom Blox (get the newer one, boom blox party I think) for Wii, is great for 2 - 4 players. You take turns, and technically are competing for score, but you could easily play it cooperatively... trying to see how many blocks you can remove with toppling the tower (one mode is essentially Jenga, but with more creative towers.)

The heir to that style of game will be either Kirby's Epic Yarn or Donkey Kong Country Returns, both of which feature 2 player coop. Both of these games are coming out this fall in the U.S. (And both of which are looking awesome).

Alien Swarm on Steam is free, co-op and pretty amazing. Not at all like Super Mario Bros but pretty great.

I really want to suggest the PC game SMBX.
From the Wiki:
Super Mario Bros. X is a freeware based off the 16-bit era Mario console games. The game's included world, which contains over 50 main levels, along with multiple bonus levels, has elements from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Zelda, and Metroid.[1] It is written in Visual Basic for the Windows platform.
This game was created by people that love Mario for people that love mario. It is super fun, has great graphics / sound (emulating the 16-bit SNES) and supports local multiplayer. I've read that you can hack it to get online multiplayer working, but I have not tried it myself.
You can play it using the keyboard, but I prefer to use one of my USB gamepads.

Seconding the Lego games. I have no idea how you were able to play NSMB Wii cooperatively with any success -- in my experience it was anti-cooperative in that "stop kicking me into that pit!" sort of way. The Lego games didn't have that downside. Harry Potter's the most recent of the lot, and came out this year.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 is also just out. It has more complicated stuff for the second player to do than SMG 1 did. Both are pretty fun for two players, even though the second player doesn't operate a character on-screen -- it basically gives the second player something to do while you trade off controlling Mario.

Thanks! Hell if I could just get some kind of cooperative text-twist, that would even be fun. Literati had its time - just looking for something different. Answers still welcomed.
