Name for a new sandwich
September 16, 2010 2:53 PM
I have a chance to name a new sandwich at a favorite lunch spot. I have a chance to name a new sandwich at a favorite lunch spot. I gave the owner the idea making some tweaks on an existing sandwich. He liked the idea and said it will be on the menu next week. Then he said I had to name it.
The new sandwich will be a Carolina style pulled chicken, marinated in Buffalo wing sauce with Gorgonzola cheese. All stuffed in a hallowed out sub roll to make a "handwich".
I've been racking my brain for a name that might incorporate a Buffalo/Carolina connection, but Buffalina or Carofalo are the lazy way out. Also, using my nickname "Eman" in the name of the sandwich would not bother me. So bombard me with your ideas.
The Emanwich?

Is your name pronounced e-man or e-mahn?
If it's e-man than I go with Hand-Eman or Emanwich.

Think historical: Sherman's March? Or... We Only Burn Once? (Because that sammy sounds like it'll tear up *your* southern regions!)
Think regional: Mason Bell. Charles & Jeremiah (surveyors of the Mason-Dixon Line).
Think nonsensical: The Bob Saget. The Weed Whacker. The Sound and The Fury.
Think "what's in the sammy:" Go Go Bok Bok. Fire in The Hole.

Is the sub roll wrapped?
Because "Eman's Hot Chick in the Sack" would be a sandwich I would order.

Buffalo Cluckalina. Or Buffacluckalina.
Hey, I just realized that it's that time of the afternoon when my blood sugar gets low and I get stupid.

The Relocated Yankee.
Or, perhaps, A Buffalo Yankee in King Charles' Court?
Okay, off to get a snack now.

I like the idea of the "relocated yankee".
I also like the idea of some nonsense sound. Just pick a sound you like. "The Criften" or "Whid" or "Pagbo"

Macado’s (mostly in Virginia) has a Carpetbagger, though it’s a very different sandwich.

Let's see: it comes from a customer recommendation; it has buffalo style sauce.
Buffalo Toldya.
Or, because it's got blue cheese in it:
Blue Velvet - a neat riff on David Lunch's movie starring Gorgonzola Buffalini and Kyle McLuncheon.
