What film is this?

Name this classic movie: a man murders his entire family tree in order to become a duke. The main actor plays most of the characters himself. It is possibly in black and white. Any help?
Was also a plot for an episode of The Persuaders! with Roger Moore playing multiple examples of his main part's relatives.

hjd's got it. The family members were all played by Alec Guinness. Even the suffragette!
