What is this bug (from Western India)? I have two images sent to me by a friend: one and two. The bug was photographed in Western India.
Best answer: Treehopper. It looks like a brown version of the commonest one in NJ, the Buffalo Treehopper
Or check out the gallery pages at the bottom of the Wikipedia Treehopper page. They come in all shapes, few sizes.

Does it eat oil? It kind of looks like it does. Send it to the Gulf. They need all the help they can get.

Response by poster: Thanks for the link, hexatron. I am convinced that it's a treehopper. AskMe is awesome!
