Oh, Brother.

My Brother MFC-290C all-in-one gives me the following error almost every time I scan something: "The image data size is too large for the computer memory." Help!
It often helps if I restart my computer or the printer, but not always. Sometimes if I change the file type that fixes the problem as well.
And, um, the image data size is absolutely not too large for the computer memory.
Anyone have any ideas how to fix this permanently? Maybe some other scanning software would work better for me?
I have a MacBook Pro with OSX 10.4.(highest number available). I'm currently using Brother's software for printing and scanning.

Maybe the scan resolution is too high and it can't store all that raw data in memory. Try a lower resolution and see if it helps.

You should be able to skip the Brother software and scan from Image Capture, an Apple utility that should be on your computer.
