Can I recover this Toshiba e310 that will not finish booting?

I have a Toshiba e310, that mysteriously stopped starting up when I turned it on. It's not completely dead, it comes up with the default bootscreen and then just sits there. Windows XP detects an unknown device, and that's it. I've tried doing a hard reset, soft reset, and letting the battery drain. Is there any use for it? Does anyone know of a way to recover it?

Could I somehow load a new rom on my SD card and force it to boot from that?

jack— How did you do the hard reset?

There's a little switch on the bottom of the unit that resets the whole unit back to factory defaults... I tried that one a couple of times... but no dice.

Try holding down the power button and the soft reset button (both at the same time) for several seconds.

I attempted that also... still the same thing... I think I may have to junk it.

Well, you may be right. Bummer. You could try asking on this forum; it's very active and it's friendly.
