How can I get my students to dream of Djinni?

What's a good academic text/trade book about Jinni?

I'm creating a new class for lower-division college undergraduates. It's an introduction to Western religions (Jud., Xtianity, Islam) through the theme of angels, demons, and djinni. I've got the former two bases covered, but am looking for academically reputable readings about the history and role of djinni in Islam. Short books are preferred, but chapters or articles are welcome also. (Note: I've got Qur'anic references to Djinni covered, I'm looking for an extra-scriptural commentary that provides context and analysis)

Best answer: I haven't actually read Islam, Arabs, and the Intelligent World of the Jinn yet, but a friend of mine who studies Arabic was praising it recently, and it might be a good place to look.
